Electrical & Mechanical Component & Product Testing

Working to make sure you can rely on your products and materials

How Can We Help?

Does your electrical or mechanical product perform as intended, come rain or shine?

Is it still safe, compliant, and reliable when exposed to environmental and mechanical stresses during realworld use?

Electrical and mechanical component and product testing is essential for understanding how products behave under challenging operating conditions. Even where a device is not designed for direct exposure, such as water ingress or vibration, it must remain safe for users and surrounding systems. Equally, products should not present risks such as electric shock, fire, mechanical failure, or hazardous emissions throughout their service life.

ISO17025-accredited testing for electrical and mechanical systems.

Resonate Testing provides ISO17025-accredited mechanical and electrical testing services for industries where precision and durability are non-negotiable. From aerospace actuators to automotive electronics and industrial assemblies, we help engineers and procurement teams validate performance under real-world conditions.

Our facility in Northern Ireland offers vibration, shock, and environmental testing under one roof, enabling efficient qualification campaigns and reducing time-to-market for critical components.

Why Reliability Testing Matters

Reliability is defined as the probability that a product or component will perform its intended function, under specified conditions, for a defined period of time.

As product development cycles continue to shorten, reliability testing provides an efficient way to uncover weaknesses in design, materials, or assembly. Environmental and mechanical stresses can reveal failure modes that would otherwise only appear once products are in service, where the cost and risk are far higher.

Used early and intelligently, reliability testing supports robust design, faster development, and confident market release.

Electrical & Mechanical Test Capabilities

Resonate Testing supports components, subassemblies, and finished products across the full product lifecycle—from R&D and design verification through to qualification and certification.

Our capabilities include:

Mechanical Testing

  • Electrodynamic vibration testing
  • Swept sine
  • Random vibration
  • Mechanical shock (lifelike and standardsbased profiles)
  • Mechanical integrity and durability testing
  • Transport and handling simulation

Environmental Testing

  • Temperature testing
  • High temperature
  • Low temperature
  • Temperature cycling
  • Humidity testing
  • Combined environmental conditions

Ingress & Protection

  • Dust and water ingress testing (IP testing)
  • Environmental exposure to assess enclosure performance and safety

Testing can be performed during design validationprecompliance, or formal certification, and against international, regulatory, or customerspecific requirements.

Example Standards We Test To

Our electrical and mechanical component and product testing supports compliance with a wide range of recognised international standards, including:

Environmental & Mechanical

  • IEC 60068 – Environmental testing (vibration, shock, temperature, humidity, etc.)
  • ISO 16750 – Environmental conditions and testing for electrical and electronic equipment (road vehicles)
  • MILSTD810 – Environmental engineering considerations and laboratory tests
  • ISTA – Transport packaging and distribution testing

Electrical Safety & Performance

  • IEC 61010 – Safety requirements for electrical equipment for measurement, control, and laboratory use
  • IEC 623681 – Safety of audio/video, information and communication technology equipment
  • IEC 60529 – Degrees of protection provided by enclosures (IP ratings)
  • IEC 602041 – Safety of machinery – Electrical equipment of machines

Product‑Specific & Customer Standards

  • Sectorspecific OEM requirements
  • Customer proprietary specifications
  • Combined environmental and operational test profiles

Where appropriate, we also work with clients to define bespoke test plans aligned to intended use, risk profiles, and regulatory expectations.

The Value of Component & Product Reliability Testing

Effective reliability and environmental testing allows you to:

  • Identify potential design and material weaknesses early
  • Verify production quality and manufacturing consistency
  • Reduce warranty claims, recalls, and customer returns
  • Improve product safety, performance, and longevity
  • Protect and enhance your brand reputation

By uncovering issues before products reach the market, reliability testing reduces risk while adding measurable commercial value.
